MALI NCHR STUDY TOUR

There was a study tour that took place by the Mali Commission. Attached are photos of the Delegation presenting gifts to Gilbert the ED of NANHRI and commissioner Samuel Tororei.

The Mali National Commission on Human Rights is an autonomous national NHRI created by Law No. 09-042 of 19 November 2009 with the main mission of contributing to the promotion and protection of human rights in Mali. The commission envisions becoming an operational NCHR that is credible and recognized as a reference institution for the promotion and protection of Human Rights, the NCHR further seeks to achieve A status accreditation by the ICC.

 To achieve this, the Commission conducted a Study visit to the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights from the 10th the 13th of September 2012. The Mali delegation comprised of 4 members namely: 

  • Toure Fatouma Mahamane
  • Diabate Amidou
  • Teguete Amadou Bocar
  • Dembele Mamadou Tidiane

 The purpose for the study visit by the Mali Delegation was for them to come and learn best practices from an A status institution and the general operations.

 The study visit was sponsored by DANIDA and was facilitated by the Network of National Human Rights Institutions.
