NANHRI to participate in the 22nd Session of the Annual meeting of the ICC.
The Network of African National Human Rights Institutions (NANHRI) and a number of its member NHRIs will participate in the 22nd session of the Annual Meeting of the International Coordinating Committee of National Institutions for the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights (ICC), from 23rd to 27th March 2008 at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.

The Role of National Human Rights Institutions in Detention Monitoring
•NHRI Engagement at the International and Regional Levels
•The Optional Protocol to the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (OP-ICESCR): Future functioning and perspectives for NHRIs
•NHRI participation in the Commission on the Status of Women and the UN mechanisms on Indigenous Peoples The 22nd Session will also discuss the adoption of summary report of the 21st Session of the ICC held in Nairobi, Kenya in October 2008.
The African Network will hold its meeting on Monday 23rd March, 2008 at Room XIX and the documentation will be posted shortly on the NANHRI website.
